Update on Finding Dragon Eggs

Dragons of Atlantis changed the mechanics of finding elemental dragon eggs to start outposts.  Now, you have to include a Great Dragon, Water Dragon, Stone Dragon, Fire Dragon, or Wind Dragon with your attacks to have a chance at finding the eggs and pieces of armor.  I will be updating my guides in the next week or so to reflect these changes.  Until then, check out my guide on how to find your Great Dragon Armor (which is still accurate and up to date) to get ready to farm for your Dragon Eggs for your Outposts.

What other Dragons of Atlantis information should I cover for you?

Over the next month or so, I will finally have some time to work on some more guides and content for this Dragons of Atlantis blog.  What do you, the reader, want me to cover?  Please leave a comment on this post with your suggestions and I will take them into account when I prioritize my blog posts when I create more guides.

Thank you for reading and please check out my Hubpages guides.  If you have any Dragons of Atlantis questions, post them here or in the comment sections of my DoA guides on Hubpages.

Wind Dragon Egg Guide

Check out my brand new Wind Dragon Egg guide!  Find out how to farm for your Wind Dragon Egg and start building your Wind Dragon Outpost in Dragons of Atlantis.

Wind Dragon Egg and Outpost

Dragons of Atlantis just released the 4th outpost, the Wind Dragon Outpost.  To create a Wind Dragon Outpost, you must own a Fire Dragon Outpost and find a Wind Dragon Egg.  To find a Wind Dragon Egg, you must attack level  7 or higher Savannah wildernesses.  I will be putting out a guide to farming for your Wind Dragon Egg shortly and also a guide to setting up your Wind Dragon Outpost.  Good luck!

Main City Field Finally Finished

Well I finally spent some time working on upgrading my main City's field.  Because I don't spend any money on Dragons of Atlantis, the highest level I will get most of my buildings to is level 9.  Here's a screenshot of my finished Field.

It took me quite a while to upgrade everything all the way, but I've had the last three days off of work and spent quite a bit of time online working on my guides, blogs, and playing some games.  Level 8 to 9 for resource gathering takes just under 40 minutes, so I was able to start an upgrade, work on something or go do run an errand or go to the gym, then come back and start a new one.  This seemed to work out well and has also helped greatly in my resource production.

Stone Dragon Outpost Guide

I just finished putting together my new Stone Dragon Outpost setup guide.  Now that my server seems to not be lagging, I've had a chance to work on building up my city and both outposts.  Take a look at my guide to see how I set up my Stone Dragon Outpost here.

Here's a screenshot of my current Stone Dragon Outpost, which is still a work in progress but I can only make the construction go so fast :)

One tip that I have for your Stone Dragon Outpost is to build as many Training Camps as possible.  They take a while to upgrade, but imagine how fast your troops will be trained with 15 level 9 Training Camps.  When I get all 17 of mine upgraded to that level, I'll let you know how fast they go.

Stone Dragon Egg Guide

Finally, after about 300 hits I found my Stone Dragon Egg.  Due to my server being extremely laggy, I haven't had an opportunity to start building up my Stone Dragon Outpost, but I did however create it using my Stone Dragon Egg and will be posting a guide on how to set yours up soon.

For now, here is my guide to farming for your Stone Dragon Egg.  Enjoy!

Stone Dragon Outpost Officially Announced

All Dragons of Atlantis players received an official message in-game announcing the release of the Stone Dragon Outpost.  The requirements for building a Stone Dragon Outpost (3rd city) are as follows:

  1. Control a plain (I suggest a level 10 which will give you the maximum number of wilderness slots)
  2. Already occupy a Water Dragon Outpost
  3. Be level 9 or higher
  4. Find a Stone Dragon Egg
Stone Dragon Eggs can be found from Level 7 Hills.  I will be farming mine tonight and posting an update soon.  I will also put together a guide on Hubpages that takes you step by step through farming your Stone Dragon Egg and also setting up your Stone Dragon Outpost.

New Water Dragon Egg Guide

In Dragons of Atlantis, you need a Water Dragon Egg to start your first Outpost and raise a Great Water Dragon.  I just posted a new Water Dragon Egg guide on my Hubpages account that will take you step by step through the process of finding your Water Dragon Egg.

Check it out here - Water Dragon Egg Guide

New Outpost Announced

A 2nd outpost is on the horizon for Dragons of Atlantis players!  Sometime in the next few days, Dragons of Atlantis will release to players the ability to start a second outpost and raise a Stone Dragon.  From the sound of their latest Facebook post/tease, the Stone Dragon will be a dragon with high defense.

My guess is that you will have to get a Stone Dragon Egg by farming level 7 or higher mountains, much like the Water Dragon Egg was farmed from level 7 or higher lakes.  For now, I am continuing to build my outpost and city as well as train new troops to get ready to farm mountains and create my second outpost.

Great Dragon Armor

Just found my first piece of Great Dragon Armor from a level 5 Anthropus camp!  After getting my Water Dragon Egg today and building my outpost, this was a nice little bonus.  I've been farming the level 5 camps around my city off and on, but now that my Outpost is up and running I will be working on getting the rest of my Great Dragon Armor.

Great Dragon Armor and Water Dragon Armor can be farmed from level 5 and above Anthropus Camps.

Water Dragon Egg and New Outpost

The best way to obtain a water dragon egg in Dragons of Atlantis is to farm level 8 lakes until you get lucky and find a water dragon egg.  I got my egg after hitting 40 level 8 lakes.

The way that I farmed was by hitting two level 8 lakes that were close to my city over and over.  I would send an attack, conquer the wilderness, recall my troops, abandon the wilderness, then send a 2nd group (can be less troops as it will take time for the monsters to respawn), and repeat the process on both lakes.  Honestly it should only take a couple hours of farming, but with my schedule it was hard to sit down and do it all at once.  I would do this for a few rounds and then come back later, but the idea is the same.

Once you get your egg, the next thing to do is to conquer the highest level wilderness plain that you can.  THe higher the plain, the more additional wildernesses you will be able to control.  That's right, your outpost allows you to control extra wildernesses, meaning that you can greatly increase your production of resources.  The further you advance in the game, the more useful this will become.

My army isn't strong enough yet to hit level 10 wildernesses, so I did a level 9.  I suggest waiting until you can hit level 10s, but I got impatient and wanted to see what the outpost was all about.  Based on the screen below, it looks like you will be able to create additional outposts as the game progresses and the developers implement it.

Another requirement is to be level 8 or higher, but if you can farm level 8 lakes you should be all set.

Once you find your water dragon egg and have all the requirements pet, go to your "Empire" tab and click on "Create" below Outpost #1.  Get ready to spend a couple hours building and conquering new wildernesses.  Stay tuned for a guide on how to set up your new outpost!

Attacking Level 8 Lakes

After a day of training, I finally have an adequate army to attack level 8 wildernesses.  I am however using a Dragon Heart item that boosts my troops attack by 20%, just to be safe.  I have 6 more of them, so I figure why not use them.

I attacked a level 8 mountain next to my city and then moved on to level 8 lakes.  So far, I've attacked 3 level 8 lakes and haven't had an egg drop, but I'll keep sending attacks until I can get my 2nd city.  Below is an example of the army I am using to attack level 8 wildernesses.  I am noticing that I'm losing a few Battle Dragons with each attack, so I may only do a few more until I have another batch of troops trained.

Level 7 Wilderness

I just conquered a level 7 Lake with the following army...

My research is at...

Weapons Calibration: 4
Metallurgy: 4
Medicine: 5
Dragonry: 4

I'll try level 8 after I get some more Battle Dragons and Longbowman.

Building...

So over the last week or so, I have been focusing on upgrading my city, training troops, and experimenting with attacking camps, wildernesses, and other cities.  I've found that there are plenty of opportunities around my city to farm inactive cities for much needed resources to train up my army.  Training an army takes a ton of time, so I have been very cautious with who I am attacking and haven't moved on passed attacking level 6 wildernesses and level 4 camps.

Currently, my army consists of...

Basically I use my entire army to attack level 4 outposts, the last time I attacked a level 5 I was wiped out.  I have a bunch of training going up for today so tonight or tomorrow I will try attacking a level 5 camp and see if my army is strong enough to start farming for my dragon armor.

I've upgraded my dragon to level 8, which means that soon I can start farming for my pieces of Dragon Armor and use my dragon when I attack new cities.  From what I've read, you need to get the armor for level 5 camps or higher.  I also want to start farming level 8 and higher lakes to try and get my Water Dragon Egg and start my outpost.

This game takes a ton of time to really start growing, but now that I'm farming inactive cities (those not in an alliance and basically having no defenses) I'm starting to see some more exponential growth.

Good luck everyone, feel free to leave comments with suggestions or questions!

Water Dragon Egg

After hitting about 40 level 5 lakes, I did some more digging and found a forum post that said to obtain a Water Dragon Egg in Dragons of Atlantis, you have to hit a level 7 or higher lake.  So, on to the next steps of hitting some camps for a while to build up some resources, then start training some more troops to be able to attack higher level wildernesses.

Hopefully my next post will be of a picture of a Water Dragon Egg and my new outpost!

Farming

Still farming level 5 lakes, right now I have two generals farming two lakes within a 5 minute travel time of my city and have hit them about 20 times and no Water Dragon Egg.  I'm going to keep working and building, I need to get some more troops so I can send out other waves at the same time and farm some of the camps around my city.

Here's a shot of my city currently...

Getting a 2nd City!

Dragons of Atlantis just came out with the availability for you to obtain and create a 2nd outpost.  As I am going somewhat slowly in building my first city, I have yet to attempt to farm the Water Dragon Egg that is required to build an outpost.  From everything that I have read so far, you obtain a Water Dragon Egg by defeating a level 5 or higher lake.

I will post my results as I test this out and see how many runs it will take to farm a Water Dragon Egg.

Currently I have two generals (3 star and 5 star) and have researched lvl 3 weapons calibration and lvl 2 medicine.  With my number of troops, I have enough to conquer and farm level 5 wildernesses.  I found the closes level 5 lake and will be attacking it with this number of troops as much as possible until I get my water dragon egg.  Stay tuned for results...

Dragons of Atlantis Start Up Guide

I've been writing for HubPages off and on for a little while and I decided to make a hub about how I started my new Dragons of Atlantis city today as a start up guide.  You can read it here!

Dragons of Atlantis Start Up Guide
A quick start guide to getting rolling in Dragons of Atlantis.

Starting Over

Well it's been a little while since I logged in to my DoA account.  I have quite a bit of free time over the next few days, so I thought I'd hop back in and see how things are going.  Instead of taking over my old account, I decided to hop on a new realm and start over.  I'll be following the strategy and tips that I laid out in this blog to get started and posting on my progress.

Enjoy!

P.S. I'm on the Tempest realm.
